according to my point of view.

1. challenges of expansion :- countries having democratic set -up face the challenges of expanding it to various regions and social groups. this means that power are distributed between units of federation (diff. forms of government) and even the local bodies. it also implies that more social groups, regions and institutions follow democracy in their functioning. woman and minorities should also be included in the functioning of democracy. most of countries like India, USA faced this challenge.

2. deepening of democracy :- this challenge is faced by almost all the democracy. it means strengthening of those institutions that help people's participation and control.
but ordinary people have different expectations frm democracy in diff. societies
therefore, this challenge takes diff. meaning and paths in different parts of the world..in general terms, it usually means strengthening those institutions that help people 's participation nd control.

● foundational challenges :- the countries which are not under democratic government face this challenge.it is the 1st challenge faced for the establishment of democracy. this involves the bringing down the existing of non democracy regime like monarchial and military government

Nepal is a example of foundational challenge, in Nepal monarchy was replaced by democratic government.

● challenge of expansion :- this challenge is faced by most of the democratic country or government .this involves applying the basic principle of democratic government across all the region , different social groups and various institutions..

our country ,India is the example of a country which face this challenge.

● deepening if democracy :- it involves strengthening of democratic institutions and practices. this is the third and last challenge which is faced by every democracy in one form to another.
