1. The frequency is the number of wave cycles passing a point per unit time. Stated another way, it is the number of oscillations per second in the wave. A higher frequency means a shorter wavelength, and a lower frequency means a longer wavelength. [frequency is the number of oscillation per second. the higher the frequency the higher its pitch the lower the frequency the lower its pitch]. ex. women's voice has more frequency and pitch than men's voice.

2. Amplitude is the maximum displacement of points on a wave, which you can think of as the degree or intensity of change. This maximum displacement is measured from the equilibrium position. [amplitude is the distance from the medium to height and bottom. the higher the amplitude the louder the sound the lower the amplitude the softer the sound.] ex. men's voice has more amplitude and loudness then women's voice.

The difference between frequency and amplitude is that frequency is a measurement of cycles per second, and amplitude is a measurement of how large a wave is. ... Large waves contain more energy than small waves. For example, a sound wave with a high amplitude is perceived as loud.
