Dry friction resists relative lateral motion of two solid surfaces in contact. Dry friction is subdivided into static friction between non-moving surfaces, and kinetic friction between moving surfaces.Fluid friction describes the friction between layers of a viscous fluid that are moving relative to each other.Lubricated friction is a case of fluid friction where a lubricant fluid separates two solid surfaces.Skin friction is a component of drag, the force resisting the motion of a fluid across the surface of a body.Internal friction is the force resisting motion between the elements making up a solid material while it undergoes deformation.

Hi friend,
Friction is opposition of force.Friction opposes the relative motion between two surfaces in contact. It acts ok the both surfaces.Friction depends on the nature of surfaces in contact.Friction will cause the object in motion to slow down.Friction also produces heat.Friction can rub out soles of ur shoes and tyres. There are three types of friction-:
•Static friction-Frictiom acting on an object when it is at rest.
•Sliding friction-When an object slides over the other, the friction acting on it is sliding friction.
•Rolling friction-Friction acting on an object when an object roles over the other.
•Fluids friction-Also called as drag.Friction exerted by liquids and gases.
Hope it helped you.....................
