Answer:

Friction is the force resisting the relative motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, and material elements sliding against each other. There are several types of friction: Dry friction is a force that opposes the relative lateral motion of two solid surfaces in contact.

Answer:

Friction is a force that acts on two objects placed in contact with each other, objects that are sliding or trying to slide across each other.

( sliding because that's the only way there'd be any motion between the two while staying in contact.)

then, you must know that friction works in a direction opposite to the direction in which an object is moving or trying to move. It slows down the motion.

Examples,

we're able to walk due to friction.

• Friction holds the shoe in it's place (That's why if your constantly using a pair of shoes for a long time thay get torn).

It's difficult to walk on ice cause ice provides very less friction.

Reason's got something tondo with the weak cohesive forces in ice.

• You won't be able to write ( on a sheet of paper) like you normally do, If there wasn't any friction present between the pen and paper.

Writing without fiction would be something like writing on melted wax.

• When you rub your hands, they get warm. This is another example of friction. sliding your hands across one another causes friction to act in between them and this friction gets converted into heat energy which results in warming up our hands.
