Friction - Frictional force is the force acting against the relative motion of the surface of the bodies in contact .

Frictional force always acts in the opposite direction .

If we apply the force along the left , friction acts along the right . If we apply the force along the right direction , the friction acts along the left direction .

Causes of friction :-

I. Due to the interlocking between the surfaces .( roughness between two surfaces )

II. Due to the force of adhesion between the two surfaces .
