What is friction descibe
Answers
Answer:
Friction is the force resisting the relative motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, and material elements sliding against each other.
Friction - Frictional force is the force acting against the relative motion of the surface of the bodies in contact .
Frictional force always acts in the opposite direction .
If we apply the force along the left , friction acts along the right . If we apply the force along the right direction , the friction acts along the left direction .
Causes of friction :-
I. Due to the interlocking between the surfaces .( roughness between two surfaces )
II. Due to the force of adhesion between the two surfaces .
Types of friction :-
I. Static Friction
II. Sliding Friction
III. Rolling Friction
Effects of Friction :-
I. Wear and tear of machine parts are caused due to friction
II. Heat is produced .
III. Motion is opposed .
