There are four types of friction: static, sliding, rolling, and fluid friction. Static, sliding, and rolling friction occur between solid surfaces. Static friction is strongest, followed by sliding friction, and then rolling friction, which is weakest. Fluid friction occurs in fluids, which are liquids or gases.

I think the above answer is complicated for you if I tell you in normal language

this is a force which give opposite force on an object

for eg. if you kik a football it will stop about some time this is because of friction

all surface have irregularitiessmooth surface have irregularity and rough surface more irregularity when the two surfaces in contact with each other the regulatory of two surface is increased
there are three type of friction
1) sliding friction
2)rolling friction
3)drag
