- When a body is in motion , a force which opposes its motions is called Friction. Friction acts as a resisting force which is generated , when two solid surfaces slide against one another. Examples :- <> For walking , there is a friction between our shoes / feet .

A book moving across the desk is an example of sliding friction. ... When you ride a bicycle, the contact between the wheel and the road is an example of rolling friction.
