Hello there!

Question: What is friction means?

Explanation: Friction is a contact force that objects exert on each other when they rub together. Friction opposes motion. Microscopic bumps and ridges it can cause friction. Rougher surfaces create greater friction. Like any force, friction can causes a  change in motion. Causes objects to slow down. Causes objects to change direction. Friction is often needed for movement to occur. It allows tires, shoes, feet, etc., to have traction. Friction is always parallel to the surfaces that rub together. Friction is always in the opposite direction of the motion. The force of friction has the opposite sign from the force of the push or pull.

Hope this helps!
