Friction is the force resisting the relative motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, and material elements sliding against each other. There are several types of friction: Dry friction is a force that opposes the relative lateral motion of two solid surfaces in contact.

There are four types of friction: static, sliding, rolling, and fluid friction. Static, sliding, and rolling friction occur between solid surfaces. Static friction is strongest, followed by sliding friction, and then rolling friction, which is weakest. Fluid friction occurs in fluids, which are liquids or gases.

friction means balancing a object or stop an object to move italed us to walk and it also make to car to drive and so on..

There are four types of friction:

  • Static friction
  • Sliding friction
  • Rolling friction
  • Fluid friction

Static friction

it means that the force acts between the surfaces when it is in resting motion

Example

  • Creating heat by rubbing both the hands together

Sliding friction

the friction is created between the 2 objects which is sliding each other

Example

  • Sliding of the block across the floor

Rolling friction

Means the friction of between to tooling objects and doesn't allow to loos it

Example

  • Rolling of the log on the ground

Fluid friction

The friction existing between to fulid layer

Example

  • The flow of ink in pens
  • Swimming
