Friction is the force that opposes motion between any surfaces that are in contact. There are four types of friction: static, sliding, rolling, and fluid friction. Static, sliding, and rolling friction occur between solid surfaces.

There are three types of friction-

1) Rolling friction-

When one object rolles over another object, it comes to be known as rolling friction.

2) Sliding friction-

The force that is required to keep a surface sliding another surface us known as sliding friction.

3) Static friction-

The frictional force between two surfaces is called static friction.
