Frictional force refers to the force generated by two surfaces that contact and slide against each other. It is the force that opposes the motion of the object. It is easy to explain that if the two bodies contact with each other then friction is developed.

1. example, if a book slides across the surface of a desk, then the desk exerts a friction force in the opposite direction of its motion. Friction results from the two surfaces being pressed together closely, causing intermolecular attractive forces between molecules of different surfaces.

2. In physics, a force is any interaction that, when unopposed, will change the motion of an object. A force can cause an object with mass to change its velocity, i.e., to accelerate. Force can also be described intuitively as a push or a pull. A force has both magnitude and direction, making it a vector quantity.
