The force that opposes motion is called frictionl force, it is caused due to irregularities between the surfaces in contact.
Example: The application of brakes
We hold objects

hey!!!

Frictional force is a force which acts opposite to the force which is applied. It is a force which is applied by the ground. It acts to stop the object

Example =1.. Walking is a great example of static friction. When you walk, you exert a backward force on the ground. The ground reacts with a frontward frictional force, moving you forward.

2.

holding up bottle When you hold a bottle of any kind, static friction is what prevents it from slipping from you.

3 pushing a block When you push and release a block, friction pushes against the movement of the block, effectively slowing it down

.4.rubbing your hands When you rub your hands, friction acts against the movement of your hands, converting kinetic energy to heat.

5 apply brakes in a car. When you apply brakes, the car stops because of friction.

hope it will help
