Frictional force is a dessipating force implying that it results in the wastage of energy in the form of heat.
Almost all the bodies on the surface of the earth are acted upon by frictional forces.
Any body moves in the direction of resultant force.
Friction tries to stop the body.
However, if the other forces are bigger and opposite in direction to the frictional force then the body moves in the direction of the other force.
