This phenomenon is called the “flexoelectric effect,” which occurs when the separation of charge in an insulator arises from deformations such as bending. Using a simple model, the researchers showed that voltages arising from the bending protrusions during rubbing are, indeed, large enough to cause static electricity.

Hey !
Frictional Electricity:
Frictional Electricity is usually the transfer of charge from one body to another. It is also called as Tribo-Electricity, Electricity which is generated by friction.
Most commonly, it is associated with Static electricity.
When two different bodies/materials roll, slide, collide with each other, it in turn results in the separation of charges or transfer of loose elctrons in the Outermost orbit of the atoms. Thereby, producing Fractional Electricity.
Common example is combing dry hair.
