Indian Administrative Service  is a full form of IAS.

IAS is a top most administrative civil service of government. The IAS officers are recruited along IFS, IPS, IRS through the popular exam (Union Public Service Commission) UPSC. This exam is considered as one of hardest exam in the India. IAS was constituted in the year 1946.

The main functions of IAS officer are as follows:

  1. IAS officer is their regional divisional officer
  2. IAS officer handle the regional affairs of Government.
  3. Function as a Chief Development officer
  4. Distribute the resources for the implementation of policies.
