Certain rights are fundamental because they are included in the "Fundamental Law of the Land" ( The Constitution ) and can be enforced by the courts.
Features:-
- The are provided in Part 3 of the Constitution.
- They are justiciable. The citizen can seek protection from High Courts or Supreme court.
- The are a kind of restriction on the state.
- They aim to establish political democracy.
There are six fundamental rights, which are:-
- Right to Equality
- Right to Freedom
- Right to Freedom of Religion
- Right against Exploitation
- Cultural and Educational Rights
- Right to Constitutional Remedies.
