Fundamental unit is the base unit of physical measurement from which many other units are derived.
For example,
When we buy rice, we usually buy it in kilograms. So kilogram is a fundamental unit which is actually the basic unit of its quantity that is mass.

the fundamental units are those units which are independent from each other.those are used to measure a physical quantity .this units can't be represent a combination of other fundamental unit , like length and time has no relationship together , both are different quantity and their different use in everyday life.
