The oxide of nitrogen evolved by heating lead nitrate is passed through ferrous sulphate solution . state your observation. When lead nitrate is heated strongly, NO2 and O2 are given out. The colourless lead nitrate converted to a yellow compound, lead monoxide, and brown fumes of nitrogen dioxide gas are evolved.
