Gas Laws:-

  • The laws which relate the properties of gasses like pressure, volume, mass and temperature are called gas laws.

⇝All gas laws are based on experimental data.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Boyle's Law:-

  • At constant temperature, the volume of a given mass of a gas is inversely proportional to it's pressure.

\red{\boxed{\bold{\large{V  \: \propto \:  \dfrac{1}{P}}}}}

Or,

  • At constant temperature for a given mass of gas, the product if it's volume and pressure is constant.

\red{\boxed{\bold{\large{P_{1}V_{1} \: =P_{2}V_{2}}}}}

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Charle's Law:-

  • At constant pressure the volume of a given mass of a gas is directly proportional to it's temperature.

\red{\boxed{\bold{\large{V  \: \propto \: T}}}}

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Gay-Lussac's Law:-

  • For a gas at constant volume, pressure of the gas is directly proportional to it's temperature.

\red{\boxed{\bold{\large{P  \: \propto \: T}}}}

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Avogadro's Law:-

  • For a given gas at constant temperature and pressure, equal volumes will contain equal number or molecules or moles.

\red{\boxed{\bold{\large{ \dfrac{V1}{n1}  =  \dfrac{V2}{n2} }}}}

Need to know:-

Ideal gas equation :

  • PV = nRT

Where:-

  • P = Pressure
  • V = Volume
  • n = Number of moles
  • R = Gas constant
  • T = Temperature.
