The sexual division of labour (SDL) is the delegation of different tasks between males and females. Among human foragers, males and females target different types of foods and share them with each other for a mutual or familial benefit.

In feminist economics, the institutional rules, norms and practices that govern the allocation of tasks between women and men and girls and boys also constitute the gender division of labour, which is seen as variable over time and space and constantly under negotiation. The most prevalent form is the division of paid and unpaid work between women and men in private and public life.

Gender division simply refers to division of work between the men and women point the gender division also doesn't mean that women do not work outside their home .Gender is socially constructed term that sought to create artificial segregation in the society between men and women.
