Gene is a small fragment of chromosome with genetic material of cell which carries all the characters. Chromosomes are located in the nucleus. they are composed of chromatin which is made up of DNA . chromatin is a material made up of DNA which is genetic material . They are shapeless.Just before division, the chromatin takes form of thread like structure which is chromosomes.
