DNA is a very big molecules so it remains divided into many segments which bear information .These segments of DNA which contain a genetic information are calle genes. when DNA( chromatin )gets condenses to form chromosomes, the genes take a fixed position of the chromosomes. Genes controlled the appearance and execution of body characters and they are also called units of heredity
