Genetic drift is the change in the frequency of an existing gene variant in a population due to random sampling of organisms. The alleles in the offspring are a sample of those in the parents, and chance has a role in determining whether a given individual survives and reproduces.

Genetic drift can be evaluated as a Sudden change in gene pool of a species due to some factors which are unpredictable.

like we can take an example:

# think of a cheetah colony in a forest . and think a disease arose in their population which is sudden and unpredictable and uncurable by thier own immunity ,so due to this disease population of cheetah suddenly decrese leading to decrease in gene pool of cheetah population.

rehan778866khap56hzs: i wanted to add something that once cheeetah population which is lost then the genes they carry or their gene pool will be lost forever from that forest , this will leads to genetic drift
