Modern genetics is forced on chemical substances from which the genes are made up of that is, De-oxyribonucleic acid (DNA). The genes are located inside the nucleus of cell in DNA. The DNA is located in Chromosomes in the thread like structure.
DNA contains Phosphate molecule, Phosphate sugar and Nitrogen bases. There are 4 nitrogen bases in DNA and they are: Adenine, Guanine, Thymine and Cytosine. The structure of DNA is ladder like and it is made up of molecules called as Nucleotide. Each nucleotide contains phosphate sugar and nitrogen bases. As there are 4 nitrogen bases, in each of the nucleotide, only one nitrogen base is present. Depending upon this, there are 4 types of nucleotide on the basis of nitrogen base present in them. Due to which, In each organism unique gene is formed.
