Genotype refers specifically to the genes, not the traits; that is, the raw information in an organism's DNA.

There are three types of Genotype.

PP (homozygous dominant)

Pp (heterozygous)

pp (homozygous recessive

Note:

All three have different genotypes but the first two have the same phenotype (purple) as distinct from the third (white).
