A Geocentric theory is an astronomical theory which describes the universe as a Geocentric system, i.e., a system which puts the Earth in the center of the universe, and describes other objects from the point of view of the Earth.Dec 24,

➡ Geocentric theory was proposed by Ptolemy .

➡ That time he thought that the Earth was firm , stationary .

➡ So he said that the Earth was in centre of the universe and all the planets , stars etc moved around it .

➡ About 500 year later it was proved wrong by a scientist .

➡ Copernicus invested on Geocentric theory and proved it wrong and proposed Heliocentric theory .

➡ Heliocentric theory is also known as sun centered theory .

➡ Which means that the sun is in the centre and all the planets , stars revolve around it .
