The geocentric model was eventually replaced by the heliocentric model. The earliest heliocentric model, Copernican heliocentrism, could remove Ptolemy's epicycles because the retrograde motion could be seen to be the result of the combination of Earth and planet movement and speeds.

Answer:

GEOCENTRIC THEORY

➡ Geocentric theory was proposed by Ptolemy .

➡ That time he thought that the Earth was firm , stationary .

➡ So he said that the Earth was in centre of the universe and all the planets , stars etc moved around it .

➡ About 500 year later it was proved wrong by a scientist .

➡ Copernicus invested on Geocentric theory and proved it wrong and proposed Heliocentric theory .

➡ Heliocentric theory is also known as sun centered theory .

➡ Which means that the sun is in the centre and all the planets , stars revolve around it .
