geometrical isomerism :- isomers having same molecular formula but orientation is different .like as... cis- form and trans - form.

cis- form :- same atoms are on Same side of double bonded carbon

Trans- form:- same atoms are opposite to each other on double bonded carbon.





they are also known as stereoisomerism , they have physical and chemical properties a e different from each other.

cis-trans isomerism are also known as geometrical isomerism or configurational isomerism,is a term in orgains chemistry,so it is called as "geometrical isomerism".
