Geothermal energy is the energy obtained from the surface of the earth. It is clean and sustainable.

Due to geological changes, molten rocks formed in the deeper hot regions of the earths crust are pushed upward and trapped in certain regions called 'hot spots'. When underground water comes in contact with the hot spot, steam is generated. Sometimes hot water from that region finds outlets at the surface. Such outlets are known as hot springs.

The steam trapped in rocks is routed through a pipe to a turbine and is used to generate electricity.

Answer:

Geothermal energy is heat within the earth. The word geothermal comes from the Greek words geo (earth) and therme (heat). Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source because heat is continuously produced inside the earth. People use geothermal heat for bathing, to heat buildings, and to generate electricity.

hope it works out for you
