Due to Geological changes molten rocks are formed in the Deeper hot regions of earth crust are pushed upward and trapped in certain regions called Hotspots.when underground water comes in contact with this hotspots steam is generated . Geothermal power plants used is heat of the earth to generate electricity. this heat energy of the Earth is known as geothermal energy.

The underground reservoir of steam and hot water can be tapped to generate electricity or to heat and cool building directly. geothermal energy has been used for thousands years in some countries for cooking and heating. it is simply power derived from earth's interior heat.
