Geotropism is the directional movement in response to gravity.
The roots of the plants always grow downwards in response to gravity.
And the stems of the plants grow upwards, away from the pull of gravity.
FOR example =
If we take a potted plant growing in a transparent jar. Just keep the plant in the normal conditions.. Its roots will grow downwards. So it is a positive Geotropism. .
Nd now keep the potted plant in a horizontal position. Now the roots and the stems will grow in parallel to ground.
After few days u ll notice that the potted Plant bend towards the earth and the stem bends upwards, away from the earth.
Hope this may help uh dear!!!!
