What is geotropism?Explain with examples

A growth dependent, directional movement where the parts of a plant move towards or away from the stimulus which here is gravity is called geotropism.

For example:

the shoot moves away from gravity as you see it grows upwards. The shoot shows negative geotropism.

The root moves towards gravity as it grows downwards. The root shows positive geotropism.
