Global influence means setting narratives that are favourable to the country that is using this term. The world was multipolar in the days of various kingdoms, but became dual in the US - USSR days and unipolar during the collapse of USSR. However, with Putin and many nationalist world leaders, the world is beginning to look multipolar again.
