Glycogen is a complex polysaccharide.
It's structure is similar to amylopectin and is highly branched. Present in liver, muscles and brain. It is broken down into glucose and used by the body.
Glycogen is stored food in animals and starch is stored food in plants. Glycogen is purely branched whereas starch is branched as well as chained.
Cellulose has beta 1,4 linkage while starch has alpha 1,4 linkage. Cellulose is acted upon by cellulase whereas starch is digested by amylase.
