the process by whicha single 6 carbon molecule ,glucose is broken down into two 3 carbon molecule ,pyruvate or pyruvic acid in the cytoplasm of a cell ks glycolysis

● aerobic respiration:-pyruvate --->Co2+H2O+38ATP

● anaerobic respiration /fermentation:-pyruvate--->C2H5OH+CO2+2ATP

● muscle:-pyruvate--->lactic acid +H2O+2ATP

hope this helped you

Glycolysis is the metabolic pathway that converts glucose C₆H₁₂O₆, into pyruvate, CH₃COCOO− + H⁺. The free energy released in this process is used to form the high-energy molecules ATP and NADH. Glycolysis is a sequence of ten enzyme-catalyzed reactions.
