It occurs during extreme desiccating. conditions or in low temperature. Sometimes, thin wall divides the contents of aplanospore in to many parts. Each part develops cysts or hypnospores. This stage of Vaucheria is called Gongrosira stage as it resembles the algaGongrosira.
