Gradation:

➛The levelling of the earth's surface by natural processes is called gradation. There are two types of forces that bring about gradation on the Earth's surface. They are internal and external forces.

  • ➛Internal forces: Act from within the earth towards the surface, for example, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.
  • ➛External forces: Act on the surface of the earth, for example, running water and moving ice etc.
