the mutual force of attraction of two bodies by virtue of their mass is called gravitational force.

since , the force is directly proportional to the product of masses of the body

           so ,  F∝ M×m ................................{1}

and inversaly proportional to square of distance between them.

      so ,      F∝1/r²........................................{2}

combining these two factors,

                F∝Mm/r²

                F=GMm/r²

where G is universal constant called gravitational constant.
