Gravitational pull:-

A type of attraction in which an object experiences a force due to gravitational fields.

• Any force of attraction felt by any massive object in gravitational field.

• This pull or attraction will get weaker if you go out from the centre of the earth.

• When objects fall, the gravitational pull will be equal to 9.8m/s². All objects fall with the same acceleration.

• It depends on mass too, like gravitational force on a marble is lesser because it has a smaller mass.

Newton's law of gravitation:-

The acceleration due to gravity(g) will be,

  • At sea level, g = 9.8m/s^2

On the top of Mount Everest,

  • g = 9.77m/s^2.
