A place is enclosed by glass, this glass traps heat. The temperature inside enclosure is higher than the temperature of surroundings. So tropical plants can be grown using this phenomena in poles or in areas where temperature is cold. This enclosure is called greenhouse. In this manner the atmospheric gases such as methane, carbon dioxide etc.. traps the heat. This effect is called green house effect.
