The green house effect is caused because the heat or light
of sun get traped on earth.
The process of heat or light get traped,
When the sunlight hits the earth surface it reflect, But does't get outside of earth because of pollutant present in the
atmosphere, the light get reflected again by the pollutant
Due to multiply reflects the temperature rises on earth.
Simply, The green house effect caused by pollution present in air which traps the heat or light and result in rise in temperature.
