the effect caused by the Green House gases is called green house effect. Gages like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide are two very harmful type of green house gases. due to rise in carbon dioxide in our atmosphere the ozone is being destroyed or destructed by these gases and ozone is the layer by which the UV Ray's are reflected and it's harmful effect doesn't have any impact on the earth atmosphere but due to the ozone destruction the temperature on Earth increases and due to increases in temperature the global warming is occurring this is a very serious issue about our earth due to this water bodies are being wasted like glaciers are being melted these are the very big source of fresh water due to this green house effect the fresh water is converted into salty water.
hope it helps
