Answer:

The greenhouse effect occurs when certain gases in the Earth's atmosphere trap infrared radiation. This infrared radiation warms the planet.

Green house effect can affect the earth severely..Some of the bad effects due to the greenhouse effect are :

  • Melting of Glaciers -  When the temperature of the Earth increases , the snow in the Antarctica begins to melt. The melting of glaciers will lead to the rise in sea level.
  • Flooding Coastal Villages and Cities - If the water level in the sea increases, then the coastal area will be submerged under water. Therefore , people living in coastal places would have to move to cities.
  • Impact on agriculture and livestock - Global warming has already altered the length of the growing season in several parts of the world. The climatic changes are directly affecting important species in multiple ways: Reproduction, Metabolism, Diseases, etc.
