The Green Revolution:
It was during the Green Revolution, the agricultural yield was massive.
The production of grains, cereals,etc were massive.
Factors which led to Green Revolution:
* Use of HYV seeds ( High Yielding Variety)
* Use if good quality manure, fertilizers, pesticides,weedicides, fungicides,etc.
* Arrangement of good irrigation system.
* Use of modern machinery.
* Changes in the method of cultivation of crops.
* High capital investment.
This Revolution occurred in the 20th century.
Norman Borlaug is known as the ' Father of Green Revolution'.
In 1961 when India experienced famine,Borlaug was invited and Punjab was chosen for the massive cultivation of Wheat and Rice.
In the 1960s India became one of the largest producers of rice.
