the green revolution was introduced in india in the late 1960s.. Indian farmers used it for the production of major food crops like wheat and rice.....they made use of the high yielding variety seeds which produced much greater yield than the traditional seeds. ......... they need plenty of water , chemical fertilisers and pesticides. ......

It is the method that encourages the farmers to use the high yielding seeds that would provide a better yield of crops on a piece of land per year .Norman Ernest Borlaug an American agronomist who is considered as the "Father of Green Revolution".This method has also increased and improved use of fertilizers,pesticides,irrigation facilities,etc..
