Heya ..

The term green refers to crop and revolution refer to spurt... Together these term implies a spurt in crop production..

It started happening in India in the year 1967-68....Due to this good grains production increased nearly by 25% ..India became self sufficient in good grains...

In this there was the awareness and use of chemical fertilizers , High yielding seeds ( HYV)..., modern technologies for farming to increase production....

* It has two phases....

1 Mid 60s - Mid 70s.. In this scope of green revolution was restricted largely to wheat and rice growing regions of the country.. Such as Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu...

2 Mid 70s - Mid 80s... in this the impact of green revolution widespread covering most of areas of country and larger no of crops...
