Green Revolution refers to huge production of wheat and rice back in parts of Punjab, Haryana and Eastern UP. M.S Swaminathan is known as father of Green Revolution.

Green revolution involved:

Use of HYV seeds

Modern machinery and tools

Better irrigation facilities

Use of pesticides and insecticide.

This resulted in heavy production of crops like wheat, rice, sugarcane etc.
