What is green revolution in India? please explain in very simple words

The enormous increase in the production of food grain ( especially wheat ) during the last three decades , due to use of seeds of HYV ( High Yielding Varieties ) , higher dose of fertilizers and pesticides , and irrigation is known as green revolution .

in the process of Green Revolution there is use of high yielding variety of seeds using the higher technology, improvement in technology .



firstly green revolution was started in a state like Haryana and Punjab.


letter it was expanded to a state of West Bengal Uttar Pradesh , Gujarat etc







due to enhancement in green revolution there is surplus production of crops in India.




negative impact :-



firstly it was implemented in a state of Haryana and Punjab so that there is over exploitation of soils.


due to over exploitation of soils in a state of Punjab and Haryana soil lost their fertility

so green revolution is very beneficial for Indian agriculture .
