Answer:

The greenhouse effect is the process by which radiation from a planet's atmosphere warms the planet's surface to a temperature above what it would be without its atmosphere. If a planet's atmosphere contains radiatively active gases they will radiate energy in all directions.

Explanation:

green house effect was first used in cold countries like Russia because growing plants and food over there was very difficult due to the always cold weather...green house is a system in which contains different types of plants and plant species. green house is made up of such kind of glasses through which light can enter but cannot go out or in other words these glasses do not reflect light.this was useful in the first few years and these green houses started appearing in many such countries but eventually after few years the heat which was being stored in these green houses started heating up the earth and as this heat cannot go back to the universe, people tried to reflect it.by doing so they unknowingly made holes in the ozone layer because this heat was very intense the holes started growing larger day by day...and hence more heat started entering the earth...due to which global warming started that's what green House effect really is.
