Guttation :

It is the release of extra water from the pores of the plant . It is commonly found in winter season when plants have water on their leaf surface during morning .

Guttation is a result of root pressure . When the root pressure exceeds the transpiration pull , the water absorbed from the soil by plant is more than what is taken away by the atmosphere through transpiration .

This exceeds the amount of water in the plant and this water is lost through guttation by the pores and tip of the leaves.

Some plants in which guttation occurs are grass , wheat , tomatoes , barley , strawberry , etc most of which are small plants .

Trees don't usually have guttation because guttation depends on root pressure and pressure required to let water move out will be very much .
